How to use the Mobile Travel Planner

Travel plans are available for a two-week period from today's date. At any time, you can use the 'Turn on Help' link to get instructions.

Origin:
In the first field, labelled "FROM:", enter your originating address, intersection, landmark, or stop number. Examples:
Address:
 1500 St. Laurent
Intersection:
The two street names can be separated with an ampersand; @ or 'and':
  albert & bank
  albert @ bank
  albert and bank
Stop Number:
 5460 (4-digit bus stop number)

Landmark:
Click on the 'Landmark'button to search through the landmark categories. From the drop-down list, select a category ie: 'Colleges and Universities', then click on the 'Find all' button. Choose the landmark you require from the drop-down list. (If there is only one landmark in the chosen category, it will be entered in the field.)If you have made an error in your Landmark selection, just click the 'Clear' button to start over.

Destination: 
In the next field, labelled "TO:"enter your destination. (same as above).

Time and Date: 
Travel plans are available for a two-week period from today's date. Next are the destination are the time and date fields. From the drop-down list, select either: Arrive at or Depart at. Then select the time of your travel and also AM or PM. Then select the date of your travel from the drop-down list. If you have made an error in choosing your time or date, just click in the field and use the drop-down arrow to make another selection.

Options:
If you are looking for a trip that has a low-floor bus, click on 'Accessible' to only find those trips that are accessible. If you want to pay regular fare only for your trip, click on 'Regular Fare' to exclude express routes.

Search:
Click on the 'Search' button to get your travel plan according to the criteria you have entered.  


You now have your Travel Plan!  
For some trips, several alternate routes may be possible. The mobile Travel Planner will always find the quickest trip first. To see other possible routes, click on the 'Earlier' or 'Later' links at the bottom of your trip plan. If a different routing is available, the Travel Planner can find it by looking a few minutes earlier or later. Alternate trips will also be found if you make a slight change to the arrival time, or if you specify a departure time instead of an arrival time. If your plan includes walking information, just click on the 'Show Walking Information' link to get the specific directions. 
 
To create a new Travel Plan, just click on the 'Start Over' link.   


Mobi Compatibility: Mobi is compatible with the following platforms: Windows Mobile; iPhone Safari; Motorola's native browser; Opera Mobile and on any mobile phone browser that is capable of rendering HTML. The site will not work on WAP based phones.
